In January my singer friend Dina Baker and I went into the studio with no greater intention than to settle into a deep inward state and express whatever was presenting on the unseen side of the veil. Two days later we emerged with this full recording.

As I was working on the tracks, in heard in my mind, “Firmament”. Not knowing exactly what that meant, I looked it up in the dictionary and found this: “The arch or curve in the sky which separates the heavens from the earth.” Sometimes it is considered the heavens which contain all celestial bodies; Othertimes it is considered the space which separates the heavens from the earth; the sky.

Both of us agreed that the music had a decidedly spiritual coloring. A friend who listened to the recording said it reminded her of the Void, and queried whether we intended to create Music of the Void and bring in the Cosmos.

Dina said when she first started creating her melodies she kept hearing instructions to "go into the void, enter the cave, and ignite the heart."

I've always felt it is the artist/musician's missive to bring in the mystery from the unknown side of creation, part of which can be considered the Void.

At any rate we are both happy to be sharing this at such a pivotal time in our evolution, when chaos (arbiter of change) might find value in a stabilizing force pointing towards a higher degree of order and grace.
